good draw.. the first ammo reference on the board i think.
I buy this ammo because it is cheap, but it jams in my AR-15 becasue of the laquer they paint on it... I have to put a drop of oil on the 1st round in each magazine to prevent a jam.. If I do that, it works fine... but that annoys the hell outta me.. I guess the firing of the round heats it up enough to melt the laquer, which then works like glue in the chamber.
I love remington ammo, becasue it fires real hot (big flame shoots out the barrel), but it is so expensive.
Ive got an AK-47. The tolerances are so loose in these guns that nothing jams. It has only 2 moving parts. The firing pin assembly and gas piston are one piece and the recoil spring is the other. I got 160 rounds of Wolf yesterday for $25. I used to have a Mod 54 that took a 7.62x54. That used to blow my shoulder out of joint. The gun shop I get my ammo from just lost his FFL and is letting shit go for dirt cheap. Once hes gone Ill have to order from Cheaper Than Dirt. They have the 7.62x39 for $4.47 for 20 rounds and the .223, 5.56mm(Wolf ammo) for the same price. Sellier & Bellot is $6.30 for .223, 5.56. Winchester is $6.36 for the .223. Watch out for some of the military grade crap as it can be corrosive.
Yeah, the military stuff can be quite nasty..
I always wanted an AK, but CT banned them (banned AR-15's too, but they did it stupidly, by specifc make and model... I couldn't get a Colt ar-15, even tho they are menufactured in ct... I had to get a bushmaster. but I'm very happy with it).
