This Is my 1967 Sears Sr 250. Two stroke split single twin engine. It hasnt run in a few years. Shovelhead had it running for me once but it developed some kind of ignition problem. It will run again.

...on my '69 DS6 (2 stoke twin) it is not hard to mistakenly reverse the coils/plug wires so they are not firing at near the TDC but the bottom...mine ain't running now either, it's down with timing/point setting issues (I think)...it looks like the pic you drew also...
