...this idea is a stretch, but if more in our country (USA) were armed, some of these clowns would be stopped sooner, but then they would just find other ways to share their pain, anyhow, don't buy into the gun control BS that will be coming at ya', but I know you won't...
if more in our country were armed theyre just be more shootings, killing someone from 10 feet away with a propelled piece of metal by pulling a trigger is way too easy...there is absolutely no reason for civilians to be armed, its just a bunch of macho-asshole-gangster/cowboy-wannabe bullshit.
I grew up in a state where the opening day of deer hunt is a school holiday and am a pretty decent markswoman myself, however, i also appreciate my favorite quote by Eddie Izzard.... "Guns don't kill people, people kill people, but the gun helps" :)
its totally 2 different topics. virginia tech wasnt about the dangers of handguns (which are obvious) it was about an individual, a possibly insane individual. or maybe he just couldnt cope with himself, he couldnt cope with society, so he snapped and he had to blame everybody else for his life and punish them. people with that amount of hate, anger and rage will always find ways to execute their plans. you cant just ban psychoticness by introducing a band-aid law! there is no quick and easy fix to this problem. there may be ways one could figure out that prevent people from getting that singled out, that might help in certain cases, in others it won't. however, the chances of getting killed by someone like that are possibly even smaller than dying in a terrorist attack, so everybody, be cool. you - be cool.
the second amendment is a vestigial remnant that is totally irrelevant 200 years after it was penned. its that kind of brainlessly helpless steadfast acceptance and adherence to doctrine that leads to the same shit that convinces assholes it makes some kind of sense to strap a bomb to your body or fly a plane into a building or load up a van with a ton of fertilizer...theres no difference, youre all feeding the same blind endless cycle of death, because you've rendered your ability to think for yourself in service of someone else's gain. guns are made for one thing and one thing only, the easy, distanced, offhand destruction of another human life, and there's no reason anyone should have that power. its too easy to destroy another human being, its hard to fix the misunderstanding that leads to violence, its easy to accept what some asshole decided for you 200 years ago as some kind of god given right, its a lot harder to think for yourself, and make your own decisions about whats right and wrong based on what your own brain is telling you...
