"Barack Obama plans to initiate public-private partnerships (PPPs) on a grand scale. A mix of public and private ownership is a socialist arrangement, and a sly tactic employed by those looking for increased power, albeit under a different name. The greater the extent of government ownership, the larger the amount of calculational chaos, and the closer we move toward socialism."

Seeka, Don't you live in Germany? How well did National Socialism work out for your country?
yanbu Dec 16, 2008 · 5:14 AM
that's taking things too far, do you expect someone to actually answer that question? you appear to be upset about a bunch of stuff and i'm not sure 10eastern is the place to be venting it. this place is about drawing, which does not appear to be your focus - you don't appear to be friendly about this

Sorry Yan, I thought this was an open forum. So rather than refuting any of the points I've made in my drawings or my quotations, you're telling me to shut the fuck up? Do I not have the right to be "upset about a bunch of stuff" that's going on in our country? Are you just pissed because I quoted Ayn Rand?

i believe he's referring to the question for seeka. that was a bit out of line.
yanbu Dec 16, 2008 · 1:02 PM
nope, i'm defending my friend seeka. i stepped in because the comment about national socialism working for her country was out of line and uncaring. it's one thing to come here and draw and voice your opinion, but a forum is a place specifically for discussion, and this is a drawing site. i never told you to 'shut the f*** up', but you appear to be looking for an argument here, which is supported by your comment of wanting me to refute your points. i have put months and months of my life into making this site, it's part of my everyday routine, and defending my friends is also a priority. i don't want to see you using your personal viewpoints to insensitively against others here

for most of us "germans" it has become kind of "normal" to be confronted with the faults and cruelties they did 60 years ago. especially if you meet people from other countries on the internet. i just got tired of it and maybe a little pissed... i think most of todays younger germans just don't wanna hear about it anymore.

Hey, Sorry I came off like such a jerk. Lately I have been very worried and angry about this country's spiral toward socialism/fascism, however this is no excuse for being a crank to someone who did nothing to deserve it. For the record, I do not blame anyone in Germany (or anywhere else) for the BS that happened in the past. My insensitive question understandably made people think that this was the case. My apologies to Seeka and the other Germans on the board. I'll put a lid on it until I can talk about this stuff without getting irrationally angry.
