Im up in the Saratoga area and alot of the old houses still have "cupolas". I guess they were to monitor troop movements. Whats funny is when I ride up into the Adirondack mountains I see houses with them. There is nothing to see but trees and mountains. What were these people watching for? There was also platforms on the roof that had railings around them called "widows walks".
Far out man!!!!!! I was thinking of the other name but Widows watch is correct. Sheep you must be a New Englander.
I know what your saying, those snow makers kinda look like a cement mixer on roids but with a jet type turbine blower instead of a mixer barrel.
We have a large snowblower called The Vohl, its from Canada. Its a tractor with a twin augers on the front, used for cutting snow banks. Its blows the snow down into the back of full size dump truck.
This is our office paper shreder, It has BIG TEETH. It is just waiting for one of us to slip up. It hungers for flesh. It is evil.
Im tying to contact Yahoo to clear this up but i might have better results talking to my lamp shade. On a lighter side.......Cool drawing.
My E-mail has been address has been stolen, Has any one from this room been getting e-mail from me in the past weeks? Its not me, DO NOT OPEN! I dont plan on sending any e-mails and I am trying to shut my e-mail down. Sorry for any problems this may have caused. Flagman out.
Split the group up into small teams, that way you dont fall into a Custers last stand if this all back fires.
Your never too old to try anything. It can be expensive if you want a machine with top notch discriminators( discriminators filter out junk metal). You could start out with a Whites Classic 1,2 or 3. These run around $175-$250. The Bounty Hunter line has some good models but your going to pay around $200 for a good one. Stay away from those ones from Radio Shack, They are made by Bounty Hunter but are crappy. If you get a cheap one you will get frustrated with it. As far as what ive found, Just those old coins and lots and lots of modern pocket change. Finding a place to go that isnt posted is getting hard to come by, I have a few corn fields that I have permission to use. I get tons of quarters from the local football stadium that I sometimes work at. People drop so much change under the bleachers. Do some research of your area to find historical artifacts. I live near 2 revolutionary war battle fronts Saratoga and Lake George but I could be arrested if cought metal detecting in some of these areas. Give it a try, Its fun. E mail me if you want to know more about it.
The Classic, The Spectrumand Silver eagle are models from Whites metal detector co. I have a Whites Classic ID. It was about $550 dollars and is a middle class machine. The spectrum is much more top class. Ive found some old large cent coins from 1801. I also found a 1865 shilling in a corn field.
