It used to happen to me lots of times. Now I slow down a bit before I get to the junction, shift down and drive slowly, then mostly it turns to green before I get there and I can speed up again

same, Shunt. I say brake very early and gentle-like...good for your brakes and if you got an automatic...good for yer gas/wallet
